Barnes Insurance Agency is Established
January 13, 1975
Now known as Senior Benefit Services™, the company first opens its doors in 1975 by our founder, Larry D. Barnes.
A New Era
January 13, 1990
Dan McNerney gets promoted to president of the company. This is also the start of when many of our current company operations were born and when the office was moved from Trenton, MO to Columbia, MO.
Office on Gray Oak
September 6, 1999
SBS rang in the start of a new decade by moving the Corporate office to its current location at 801 Gray Oak Drive, Columbia, MO. (We also have a variety of additional offices located around the U.S.)
Passing of the Torch
January 1, 2014
After 35 dedicated years, Dan McNerney retires. Leaders of the company, Bobby Richardson, JoAnn Wray, and David McNerney are promoted to president.
Satellite Office Expansion
January 3, 2014
SBS explores expanding into new territories after opening our first satellite office in Denver, Colorado! Since then, we have grown to have 20+ offices around the U.S.
