
Hello! We have a public service announcement regarding NEW changes to Aetna’s Fitness Reimbursement Benefit.
If you are currently enrolled in an AETNA Medicare Advantage Plan through us (Senior Benefit Services), you should know that there was a slight change to one of the benefits. While you should have also received a letter regarding this announcement, our team always wants to be a reliable source of information for you.
Due to a recent clarification by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), there have been some changes to the Fitness Reimbursement Benefit available on various policies.
Some of you currently have a Fitness Reimbursement Benefit as part of your AETNA policy. if you do, the following items are no longer reimbursable:
- National & State Park Fees
- Athletic Shoes (all types)
- Hiking Poles
- Fishing Rods
- Camping Tents
This letter was sent on 4/22/24 and the changes went into effect immediately.
*Even if you purchased an item before the date of the letter, CMS is prohibiting those reimbursements.
